100 years since the end of the Great War and its relationship with the town of Guiseley will be formally commemorated this autumn through 'Guiseley Remembers'.
Below is a list of events and installations coming up throughout November. All of which have been paid for by donations from members of the Guiseley Community. If you would like to donate to the Guiseley Remembers commemoration, click on the button below.
Buy a Flower of Remembrance
After an inspiring and moving month of Commemorations, we are still trying to raise funds to cover the costs of Guiseley Remembers. As part of the Flowers of Remembrance installation, Members of the community made over 300 Poppies, Forget-me-nots and Corn Flowers to decorate the War graves and memorials in St. Oswalds church graveyard. We have a limited number of these clay flowers remaining that didn't get used in the installation, which we will be selling for £2 (+pp).
The £2 will buy you 1 Flower of Remembrance, Commemorative Certificate and a covering letter summarizing the Guiseley Remembers season.
This purchase will directly fund Guiseley Remembers
You will start to see our little programmes detailing all the upcoming commemorative events in Guiseley in shops, churches, and community hubs. But if you can't get your hands on one, there is the digital programme (left) or a PDF version available to download (below).
